Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Moreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and First Second (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Moreira!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, First Second!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Second doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Moreira counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Second thinking.
Second shoots for a takedown but Moreira saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Moreira tries to counter with a takedown but Second is quick to defend against it.
Second is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Moreira.
First Second seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moreira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Moreira politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Moreira prefers to stall for the moment though.
Moreira will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Check out the look on Moreira's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Moreira wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Second, who protects the arm well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moreira is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Second's shoulder. That is not cool.

Moreira is putting a hurting on Second here, landing some big shots from side control.
Second wants to get back to his feet but Moreira drags him back down.
Second is not content to let Moreira control the position.

Second really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Moreira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Moreira takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Moreira wants to finish this one by submission but Second is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Moreira.

Second wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Moreira.
Moreira tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

We've been informed that Second has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Moreira is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Second can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Moreira has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Moreira is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Second has escaped the position, nice work there.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Moreira wants to lay and pray for a moment but Second keeps working.
Second stops Moreira from passing to mount.

Daniel Moreira overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Moreira postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Moreira tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Moreira has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Second is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Moreira off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Moreira shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Second manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Second wants to get back to his feet but Moreira passes into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moreira lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Second takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Moreira misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Moreira is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Second to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Second shrugs it off.

Moreira's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Moreira has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well Moreira has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
