The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado tries for a takedown but Rudger sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
No joy there for Rudger, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Machado doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Machado drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Machado has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Rudger creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Machado with a big uppercut! Machado tries to clinch up but Rudger pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Machado to the mat! Machado covers up and Rudger unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
