Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Corey Fry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Devin Sparks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corey Fry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Devin Sparks!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fry closes the distance and pushes Sparks back into the cage.
Fry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Sparks manages to pull guard.
Sparks trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Sparks trying to control the position.
Fry won't allow Sparks to get back to his feet.
Sparks not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Fry drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fry jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Sparks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Fry gets to his feet - Sparks follows without any prompting.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fry has taken the fight to the clinch.

Fry is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Sparks is defending well.

Sparks prevents a takedown attempt there.
Fry is trying to drag Sparks to the mat but Sparks just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corey Fry. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sparks fails to pull guard.
Sparks is looking to take this one to the mat.
Fry has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sparks avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Sparks pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sparks misses with a takedown attempt
and Fry counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Sparks dives in and grabs Fry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fry pushes down on Sparks's head and hops out.
Fry misses with a hook.
Sparks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Fry counters with a big head kick but Sparks shrugs it off.
Sparks darts in looking for a takedown but Fry gets double underhooks and turns Sparks into the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sparks looks winded!

Fry clinches up against the cage.

Fry works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Sparks has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Fry has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fry breaks the clinch.

Fry instigates a clinch.
Sparks is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Fry has Sparks pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Sparks manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Sparks is trying to break the clinch but Fry has him pressed against the cage.
Sparks is looking for a takedown.
Sparks misses with a knee to the head.
Fry has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Sparks after a bit of a struggle.
Fry changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Sparks fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Sparks fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Fry sprawls well initially but Sparks persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Sparks is trying to control. Fry wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sparks controlling the pace.

Fry is refusing to be controlled, as Sparks sits in half guard.
Sparks is looking to advance position but Fry won't allow it.
Fry connecting with a few gentle strikes.

Sparks trying to control the action but Fry is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Fry missing with punches from the bottom.
Sparks trying to control from half guard but Fry is working away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Fry is looking to clinch but Sparks is avoiding it.
Sparks takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Sparks closes the distance and pushes Fry back into the cage.

Sparks escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fry clinches.
Fry is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sparks gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Sparks is trying to push Fry away but Fry has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Fry prevents Sparks from breaking the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Corey Fry will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Sparks drives through and clinches with Fry against the cage.
Sparks prevents a takedown attempt there.
Fry gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sparks.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sparks makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Fry looking for a takedown.
Fry has Sparks pushed against the cage.
Fry is working for takedown but Sparks is calmly controlling the position for now.

Sparks has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Fry uses from the top position.
Sparks has control of Fry's left arm, preventing Fry from doing any damage.

Sparks has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Fry can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Sparks wants to sweep here but Fry controlling him for the moment.

Sparks is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Fry rolls with it to try and escape but Sparks cranks on the arm and Fry is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
