Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sergio Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Staal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garcia's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Ludacris - Beast Mode. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staal scores with a kick to the midsection.

Garcia throws a front kick aimed at Staal's knee but Staal avoids it well.
Garcia looks to land a right hand but Staal moved out of range.

Garcia uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Staal.

Garcia avoids the body shot from Staal.

Garcia jabs Staal to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Staal takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Garcia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Staal was covering up waiting for the punch and Garcia finishes the takedown easily into guard.
We've been hearing that Garcia has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Staal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Garcia keeps working.

and Garcia decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Staal's guard.

Garcia goes for a double leg but Staal avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Staal continues to drive forward.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Garcia lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Staal has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Staal and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Garcia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Staal connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Garcia scrambles back to his feet.

Garcia shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Staal pinned against the ropes. Staal gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Staal throws out a counter right but Garcia avoids it with no problem.

Garcia dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Staal. That did some damage!

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Staal working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Garcia bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sergio Garcia.
I think Staal has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
