Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dom DeLuise!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Tyron Woodley!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

DeLuise closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
DeLuise lands a left hand that snaps the head of Woodley backwards.
Woodley blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Woodley tightens his grip and picks DeLuise up, before dumping him to the ground. DeLuise manages to land in guard.
DeLuise controlling Woodley's posture.
DeLuise has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
DeLuise's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

DeLuise pushes Woodley up against the cage in a clinch.
DeLuise tries to throw a body punch but Woodley avoids it by throwing DeLuise back against the cage.
Woodley is working for takedown but DeLuise is calmly controlling the position for now.

DeLuise pushes Woodley off and gets back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Woodley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging DeLuise to the ground. Woodley is now in DeLuise's guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Woodley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
DeLuise is trying to keep Woodley in close.
Woodley throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as DeLuise works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Woodley wants to pass the guard but DeLuise is keeping the position.
Woodley throws a strike but DeLuise rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Our spies down at at Academy of Martial Arts inform us that Woodley has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Woodley has DeLuise pulled in close to control his posture.
Woodley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in DeLuise's guard.

Woodley is looking to pass into half guard but DeLuise pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now DeLuise is in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Woodley wants to sweep here but DeLuise controlling him for the moment.
Woodley wants to stand and escape but DeLuise is having none of it.

Woodley has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but DeLuise can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woodley is on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dom DeLuise will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


DeLuise tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Woodley manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Woodley cracks DeLuise with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
DeLuise lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Woodley can't get the takedown.
Come on Woodley - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Woodley goes for a takedown attempt but DeLuise pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

DeLuise avoids a punch combination nicely.

Woodley moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Woodley is clearly trying to counter these attacks from DeLuise with a body shot.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

DeLuise is pressed up against the cage. Woodley has hold of a leg and is looking to drag DeLuise down to the mat. DeLuise avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Woodley might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Woodley walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Woodley walks into a stiff left hand from DeLuise.

And that's the end of the fight!
Dom DeLuise showed his dominance in that final round.
Well DeLuise has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
