Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Howard Stern (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Armen Aharonian (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stern comes into the arena with The Great American Nightmare blaring out of the sound system. Aharonian has chosen Ara Gevorgyan - Artsakh as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stern swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Aharonian only half commits to the counter leg kick.
We've been informed that Aharonian has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Stern dips to his left and cracks Aharonian with an uppercut!
Aharonian looks to land a combination. Stern sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

It looks like Howard Stern has been cut.

Stern forces Aharonian back against the cage and clinches.

Aharonian's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Howard Stern seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stern moves out of range as Aharonian throws a body kick.
Aharonian walks into a jab.
Good leg kick by Aharonian there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Stern uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aharonian.
Stern misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Aharonian throws a series of punches but Stern moves out of range.
Aharonian takes a swing at Stern's ribcage but misses.

Stern feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Aharonians jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Aharonian catches Stern with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Stern moves in looking to clinch but Aharonian pushes him off.
Aharonian let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Stern will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Stern getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Aharonian throws a low kick but Stern moves out of range easily.
Stern connects with a crisp jab.
Stern throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Aharonian.
Armen Aharonian is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stern throws a front kick that sends Aharonian stumbling back into the cage.
A combination from Aharonian does no damage.
A jab from Stern does it's job there.
Aharonian throws a leg kick which misses Stern's front leg but catches the back leg as Stern tries to avoid it.
Aharonian missing with a left hand there. Stern was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
No joy there for Stern, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Stern takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Aharonian keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Stern.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Aharonian lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Stern has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Stern and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Aharonian swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Aharonian lands a right hook to the body.
Aharonian looks to land a left hand but Stern moved out of range nicely.
Nice defenses there by Aharonian.
Aharonian lands with a nice body kick.
Aharonian takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Aharonian slips under a jab.
We've been hearing reports that Stern has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Stern shoots for a double leg takedown but Aharonian sprawls well. He's pushed Stern's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Stern is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Aharonian digs a good body shot into Stern's ribs.
Aharonian slips under a jab from Stern.
Stern thows a leg kick but Aharonian checks it
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Stern closes the distance but Aharonian moves to the side
and Aharonian cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Aharonian bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Stern's head backwards.
Stern looks to land a left hand but Aharonian moved out of range nicely.

Aharonian cracks Stern with a right hand to the side of the head.
Stern needs to keep his hands up - Aharonian had a free shot at his head there.
Stern takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Stern is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Aharonian throws a shot from downtown. Stern moves away and avoids it.
A little feinted left hand from Stern on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

Aharonian lands a left and a right that send Stern crashing to the mat, dazed. Aharonian thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Stern is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stern is aggressively charging in as Aharonian backs up avoiding any damage. Aharonian tosses out a jab and Stern runs right into it face first! Stern is out cold! Aharonian dropped down on all fours and is barking in Stern's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Armen Aharonian!
