Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Renzo Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yancy Malaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Yancy Malaki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 31 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Renzo Alves !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yancy Malaki!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Malaki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Alves throws a right hand that misses
and Malaki cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Alves jabs Malaki to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Malaki stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Alves connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Alves fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Malaki to the ground. Alves is now in Malaki's guard.
Alves throwing strikes from guard but Malaki blocks nicely.
Alves trying to control but Malaki is working from the bottom.
Alves not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alves will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

It seemed like Malaki was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Alves walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Malaki checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Alves stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Malaki.
Alves swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Malaki feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Alves s jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Malaki lands with a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Alves 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Alves is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Alves is trying to trip Malaki. He has hold of a leg but Malaki is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Alves persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Malaki uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Alves has time to react.

Malaki connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Renzo Alves will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!

Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Malaki's waist but Malaki gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.

Malaki bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Alves 's head backwards.

Oh Alves is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

and Malaki counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Alves looks to throw the jab but Malaki is out of range.

Alves closes the distance but Malaki moves to the side
and Malaki counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

and Malaki counters with a nice right hand that sends Alves toppling to the canvas! Alves scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Malaki finish him?!


It looks like Renzo Alves has been cut.
Malaki pounces like a tiger and cracks Alves with a vicious hook! Alves is down but not out! Malaki follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Yancy Malaki!
After winning the bout, Yancy Malaki thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
