Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Clayton Channings (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Van Der Sluijs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Clayton Channings!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Van Der Sluijs!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van Der Sluijs gets tackled into the cage by Channings. Channings maintains the clinch.

Van Der Sluijs escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Channings misses with a takedown attempt - Van Der Sluijs sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Van Der Sluijs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Channings to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Channings trying to control but Van Der Sluijs is working from the bottom.
Channings postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Channings wants to pass the guard but Van Der Sluijs is keeping the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Van Der Sluijs is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Channings is controlling him.

Channings drops back looking for a leg! Van Der Sluijs is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Van Der Sluijs manages to kick Channings off! Channings jumps back into Van Der Sluijs's guard.

Channings is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Channings postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Channings passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Channings is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Van Der Sluijs is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Channings in side control, throwing shots but Van Der Sluijs defends.
Van Der Sluijs is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Channings has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Channings working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Channings connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Van Der Sluijs some visible discomfort.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Van Der Sluijs is not content to let Channings control the position.
Sloppy strikes there by Channings.
Check out the look on Channings's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clayton Channings dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Van Der Sluijs throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Van Der Sluijs throws a push kick but Channings slaps the foot to one side.
Channings went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Van Der Sluijs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Van Der Sluijs throws a hook but Channings avoids it easily.
Channings was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Channings shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Van Der Sluijs tries to kick Channings off in order to stand up. Channings Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Channings is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Van Der Sluijs has escaped the position, nice work there.
Van Der Sluijs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Channings. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Channings is working to tighten his grip on Van Der Sluijs's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Van Der Sluijs has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Channings is really squeezing tight and eventually Van Der Sluijs passes out! Channings breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Clayton Channings!
Clayton Channings very nearly forgot to thank Sin City Allstars amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
