The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Danzig shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rocket napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Danzig in side control, throwing shots but Rocket defends.
Rocket is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Danzig has just dragged him back down to the mat.

We've been hearing that Danzig has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Danzig creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Rocket sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Danzig misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Danzig misses with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rocket parries the strikes from Danzig easily there. Danzig is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Rocket to escape.
Rocket is holding Danzig down, trying to stall.
Danzig throws a strike aimed at the side of Rocket's head but Rocket avoids it well.

Danzig stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Rocket cracks the inside of Danzig's front leg.
Giovanni Rocket is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rocket lands a jab to the nose.
Rocket is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Danzig.

Danzig looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Danzig with the ground and pound but Rocket uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Rocket tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Danzig throws a strike but Rocket rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rocket wants to get up but he can't break Danzig's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Danzig bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rocket's guard.

Rocket is working an open guard so Danzig takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Danzig looks to land a left hand but Rocket moved out of range nicely.
Danzig throws a hook but Rocket avoids it easily.

Rocket lands a big uppercut and Danzig crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Danzig looks OK. Rocket waves Danzig back to his feet!

Danzig is rocked!
Danzig is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Rocket's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Danzig's jab looks to have found its range, popping Rocket under the eye.
Oh Danzig is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Danzig swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Danzig scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Danzig drops his hands momentarily and Rocket needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Danzig just on the top of the head. Danzig drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Danzig - he's done!
