PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Harry Callahan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Klosowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Callahan is coming into this fight with a significant injury, which will no doubt have an effect on his cardio. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harry Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Luke Klosowski!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Klosowski shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Callahan's guard.
Callahan is breathing heavily.

Callahan is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Klosowski wants to control from the top but Callahan keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Callahan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Klosowski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Klosowski drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Klosowski jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klosowski drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Callahan dives on top into guard.

Klosowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Callahan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Klosowski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Callahan throwing strikes but missing.
Klosowski controls Callahan momentarily but Callahan frees himself.

Klosowski working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Callahan has passed into half guard!
Callahan thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Klosowski's head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Callahan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Callahan maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Klosowski could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Callahan has cracked it and Klosowski is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Callahan!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Harry Callahan!
