Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tom Hewitt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marten Curran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Curran has chosen Wont Back Down - Tom Petty as his entrance music. Marten Curran acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curran scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Curran using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Hewitt has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Curran prevents a body shot from Hewitt.

Hewitt breaks the clinch.
Curran misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Curran bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Hewitt's head.
Hewitt is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curran misses with a jab, cross combination.
Hewitt tries to close the distance and clinch but Curran swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Curran jabs at Hewitt's body.
Curran lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hewitt tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Curran gets in close and tags Hewitt with a short punch that almost sends Hewitt to the mat! Oh Hewitt is in big trouble! He turns his back on Curran, trying to create some distance but Curran rushes him, striking wildly and Hewitt goes down! The referee tackles Curran into the cage to end the fight! Curran is one violent man!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marten Curran!
Our winner, Marten Curran, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
