PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paddy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Young Buck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Paddy Ward has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paddy Ward seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Paddy Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Young Buck!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buck is looking to clinch.

Buck shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ward is trying to defend but Buck finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Buck is keen to just control but Ward is a slippery customer.
Ward wants to get back to his feet.
Buck throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ward is defending against the submission attempts here by Buck.
Buck stalling.

Ward kicks off Buck and gets to his feet.
Buck stuffs the takedown.
Paddy Ward seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ward closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Ward looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Buck with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Ward slips a nice elbow through Buck's hands, connecting with Buck's forehead.
Buck is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Ward scores with a couple of nice shots.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ward lands a nice short elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Buck taking some punishment here, with Ward in his half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Buck wants to get back to full guard.
Buck looks winded!
Ward seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Ward not doing much here.
Ward is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Ward works his way into full mount!

Ward lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Ward lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.


Buck is rocked!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Ward! Buck is hurt baaadly! Ward is firing away with more strikes - Buck is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paddy Ward!
Paddy Ward decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
