PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yuya Shimizu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michal Kucharski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Shimizu might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Alright, let's do this.. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 14 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yuya Shimizu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michal Kucharski!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shimizu.

Shimizu closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kucharski fails to pull guard.
Kucharski tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Shimizu smiles and moves away.
Shimizu goes for a double leg but Kucharski avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Kucharski continues to drive forward.
Shimizu dives in and grabs Kucharski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kucharski pushes down on Shimizu's head and hops out.
It seemed like Kucharski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Yuya Shimizu. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shimizu tries to bum rush Kucharski with a series of wild strikes but Kucharski uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Shimizu fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Kucharski, pushing him back against the cage.

Shimizu pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shimizu shoots for a double leg takedown but Kucharski sprawls well. He's pushed Shimizu's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Shimizu throws a head kick but Kucharski moves out of range.
Kucharski throws out a counter right but Shimizu avoids it with no problem.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Shimizu is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shimizu stands up and waves to Kucharski to follow him.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Yuya Shimizu decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
