The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie pushes Petely up against the cage in a clinch.
Gracie blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gracie pulls guard effortlessly.
Gracie looking to control.
Petely trying to control the position from guard on top but Gracie is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petely throwing strikes but missing.
Petely must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Petely can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Gracie looking for a guillotine here but Petely defends easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Petely accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Petely doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Petely manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Petely stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Gracie has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Petely manages to get his head free but now Gracie has transitioned to an armbar! Petely grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Gracie! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
