A bone on bone clash there as Scorpion blocks the leg kick.

Smaug is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Scorpion breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smaug tries to close the distance and clinch but Scorpion swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
It looked like Scorpion was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Smaug.

Smaug connects with a crisp jab.
Smaug misses with a body shot.
It looked like Scorpion wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Smaug scores with a sloppy right hand. Scorpion should have avoided that one.
Smaug throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Scorpion stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smaug lands a left and a right that send Scorpion crashing to the mat, dazed. Smaug thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Scorpion is rocked!
Smaug sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Scorpion's defenses. It connects perfectly with Scorpion's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cinder Smaug!
