Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Split Rush!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carlo Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rush shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Alvarez defends it nicely.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Alvarez has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Rush misses with a jab to the body

and Alvarez counters with a takedown into side control.
Alvarez is chipping away with strikes.
Rush is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Alvarez's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Alvarez is looking to take a break and control but Rush is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Alvarez is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rush tries to roll over but Alvarez keeps him under control.
Rush moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Alvarez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alvarez chips away with some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alvarez landing some decent shots from guard.
Alvarez postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.


Rush is rocked!
Alvarez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Oh Rush is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alvarez makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Alvarez forces his way into half guard.
Alvarez lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Rush! More strikes land and this one is all over! Alvarez jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlo Alvarez!
