Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Granville Avila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Wong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Granville Avila!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jeremy Wong!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Ron Honeybunn and Bruno Hogan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wong throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Avila's waist but Avila gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Wong off to one side.
Wong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Avila pinned against the cage. Avila gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Avila tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Wong manages to circle out of the way.

Wong closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Wong lands in his opponent's guard.

Avila has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Wong off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Avila misses the shot to the body.
Wong shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Avila as he avoids it easily.
A quick step to the side and Avila tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Granville Avila has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jeremy Wong.

Avila is looking to clinch but Wong is avoiding it.
Wong misses with a hook
and Avila counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Wong shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Avila but Avila pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Wong with the counter takedown but Avila avoids it easily.

Wong instigates a clinch.
Wong goes for a takedown in the clinch but Avila prevents it.
A frustrated look appears on Wong's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Avila tries to break free but Wong pushes him back against the cage.

Avila wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Avila tries a knee to the head but Wong blocks it.

Avila escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Wong gets the takedown into side control.

Avila throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Jeremy Wong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Wong shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Avila defends it nicely.
Avila was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Wong tries for a takedown but Avila sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Wong closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Wong has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Avila is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Wong yanks on the arm and Avila is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Wong.
