Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Erick Clap!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gary Sajjan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sajjan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clap can pounce on him.
Clap punishes Sajjan's body with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Clap. Sajjan does a little dance to reset his feet.
Clap lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sajjan at a distance.
Clap tries for a takedown but Sajjan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sajjan throws a sloppy head kick
and Clap counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Sajjan moves forwards but Clap connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Clap tries to bum rush Sajjan with a series of wild strikes but Sajjan uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Clap tries for a takedown but Sajjan sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Sajjan looks to throw the jab but Clap is out of range.
Clap tries to counter by clinching up but Sajjan breaks away and moves out of range.
Clap throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Sajjan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A chopping leg kick lands by Clap.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Clap lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sajjan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Clap defending well as Sajjan loads up on a big left hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Clap throws a wild body kick that Sajjan sees coming a mile off.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sajjan! But no joy.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Clap lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sajjan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sajjan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Clap tries to work over Sajjan's front leg with a kick but Sajjan checks it.
Despite the aggression on Sajjan's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Sajjan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Clap ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Sajjan moves away.
Sajjan displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Clap throws out the jab.
Sajjan takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Sajjan is rocked!
Clap moves in close and cracks Sajjan with a massive right hand! Sajjan, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Clap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Erick Clap!
Jumping up and down and very excited, Erick Clap waved his t-shirt featuring Conviction's logo in front of the cameras.
Gary Sajjan was interviewed post fight and said 'You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance!'.
