PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dmitry Boitsoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Con Waterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Waterson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Oasis - Roll With It. Con Waterson is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dmitry Boitsoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Con Waterson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boitsoff fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A shot to the liver by Waterson. Beautiful body shot.
Boitsoff will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Waterson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Boitsoff.
Boitsoff misses the shot to the body.
Boitsoff wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Dmitry Boitsoff has been cut.

Waterson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Boitsoff.

Boitsoff does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Waterson! But no joy.

Waterson stuns Boitsoff with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Dmitry Boitsoff seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Boitsoff fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Waterson manages to avoid it.

Boitsoff shoots in and gets a takedown into Waterson's guard.
Boitsoff has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Boitsoff is looking to pass into half guard but Waterson pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Waterson is in guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boitsoff wants to lay and pray for a moment but Waterson keeps working.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dmitry Boitsoff will probably get the nod.

Waterson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Boitsoff has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Boitsoff is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Waterson's half guard.

Boitsoff escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Waterson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Boitsoff has his foot on Waterson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Waterson works his way back into a safe position though.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Waterson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Waterson wants it to stay on the feet.

Boitsoff fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Waterson manages to avoid it.
Boitsoff has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Waterson.
Boitsoff is looking to wear down Waterson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Boitsoff slips a straight right by Waterson.
Boitsoff was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Good leg kick by Waterson there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Waterson throws out a loose jab but Boitsoff uses good head movement to avoid it.
Con Waterson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Boitsoff shoots in looking for a takedown but Waterson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Boitsoff's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Boitsoff fails to land with a series of punches.
Boitsoff chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Waterson can pounce on him.
Waterson connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Con Waterson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
