Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ross Swann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Boe Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Swann comes to the cage accompanied by Corey Hart - I Wear My Sunglasses At Night. Boe Hogan has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Swann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Boe Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Nard Betker and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swann lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Swann moves out of range as Hogan strikes.
A swing and a miss from Hogan.

Swann gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hogan throwing strikes from guard but Swann blocks nicely.
Swann working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hogan.
Hogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hogan is looking to work some ground and pound but Swann has wrist control.

Hogan wants to control from the top but Swann keeps moving.
Hogan forces his way into half guard.
Hogan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Swann makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Swann.
Swann wants to control the position but Hogan says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Hogan is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Swann is defending against the submission attempts here by Hogan.
Well, if Hogan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hogan is just content to waste time from the top position. Swann takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Swann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hogan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hogan trying to control but Swann is working from the bottom.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hogan stops Swann from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Swann lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Swann on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Swann.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boe Hogan dominated that round.

Hogan tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Hogan thows a left - swing and a miss!
Swann avoids the head kick by Hogan.
Swann throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Hogan throws a sloppy head kick and Swann moves out of range easily.
Hogan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Swann manages to avoid it.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Swann checks a leg kick.

Swann has managed to clinch.
Swann scores with a hook to the body.

I was talking to Swann's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hogan has Swann pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Hogan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Swann tumbling to the mat - Hogan dives into Swann's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hogan throws a strike but Swann rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Our spies down at at GTi 888 inform us that Hogan has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Hogan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hogan is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Swann is defending well though. Hogan let's go of the attempt for now.

The referee warns Swann that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Boe Hogan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hogan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Swann had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hogan defends it easily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hogan drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Hogan seems to have locked his on tight now - Swann screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Hogan, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Boe Hogan!
After winning the bout, Boe Hogan thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
