The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Van gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gallagher tries to pull guard but Van won't allow it.
Gallagher trying to land knees to the body.
Van lands a nice knee to the body.
Van digs a right hand into Gallagher's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Gallagher's gas tank.
Van scores a nice knee to the body.
Gallagher gets underhooks to prevent Van 's takedown attempt.
Gallagher is looking to take this one to the mat.

Van pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Van moves into the clinch.
Van scores with a shoulder strike.

Van manages to break the clinch.

Van clinches up with Gallagher and pushes him back against the cage.
Gallagher gets underhooks to prevent Van 's takedown attempt.
Van lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Van misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Gallagher.

Van breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gallagher wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Van has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gallagher after a bit of a struggle.
Scott Gallagher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tremaine Van .

Van drops Gallagher with a big knee straight up the middle! Gallagher is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Gallagher is rocked!

It looks like Scott Gallagher has been cut.

Van moves into the clinch successfully.
Oh Gallagher is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Van crunches a lovely knee into Gallagher's ribcage.
Gallagher is breathing heavily.
Van has Gallagher pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Gallagher is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Van - that's hurt Gallagher badly! Oh, another knee lands and Gallagher is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Gallagher doesn't seem to be complaining.
