The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cranial.
Cranial throws a jab but it's blocked by Silva.
Cranial throws a hook but Silva blocks it.

Cranial fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Silva looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Silva remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Silva shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Cranial sprawls well. Cranial wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Silva gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
