Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nixy Souch!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lawrence enables Souch to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lawrence manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Souch's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lawrence dives in for a single leg takedown but Souch sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Souch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lawrence on his heels. He'll look to pass Lawrence's guard now, I'm sure.

Souch is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Souch throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Souch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Lawrence has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Souch can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lawrence wants to control the position but Souch says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Souch uses his free foot to push down on Lawrence's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Lawrence.

Lawrence tries to control Souch's body but Souch pushes him off. Lawrence squirms to his side and now Souch has his back!

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Souch has the hooks in. Lawrence is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Lawrence just trying to survive but Souch is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Souch controlling well, preventing Lawrence from escaping the position.
Lawrence rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Lawrence won't allow Souch to pass to mount.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nixy Souch dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lawrence walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Souch checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Souch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Souch avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Souch keeps the fight on the outside.

Souch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lawrence manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Souch drags the fight down to the ground.
Souch throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Let's hope that Souch has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Souch shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lawrence is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Souch lands a nice short elbow.
Lawrence is looking for a sweep. Souch is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Souch is taking a breather. Lawrence says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Souch is trying for a kimura here. Lawrence looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Souch wins by kimura!
