PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Aleksandr Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Charlie Theron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Charlie Theron was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aleksandr Kozlov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Charlie Theron!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Theron throws the left hand but Kozlov avoids the punch easily.

Kozlov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Theron tightens his grip and picks Kozlov up, before dumping him to the ground. Kozlov manages to land in guard.
Theron stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kozlov swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Theron has gone for a leg lock! Kozlov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Theron's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kozlov looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Theron with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Kozlov is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Theron defends it well.

Kozlov is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Theron is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Theron has escaped and now he's on top!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Theron holds on and takes a little breather.

Kozlov swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Theron.

Theron ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Theron no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Kozlov wants to get up but he can't break Theron's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kozlov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Theron has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kozlov has managed to get both his arms back between Theron's legs - danger averted.

Kozlov gets to his feet and stands over Theron, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Theron felt that one! Kozlov unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Theron from any more punishment!

A relieved looking Aleksandr Kozlov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
