Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kirill Chernicin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimi Aldo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 19 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kirill Chernicin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimi Aldo!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aldo tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Chernicin defends well and Aldo ends up having to push Chernicin into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Aldo fails with the takedown.
Chernicin lunges at Aldo with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Aldo's hand.
Chernicin looks for a takedown but Aldo sprawls well.

Aldo dives in and scores a takedown into Chernicin's guard.

Chernicin is trying to control the position but Aldo postures up.
Chernicin wants to get back to his feet but Aldo is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Aldo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chernicin looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chernicin looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chernicin!

Aldo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Chernicin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Aldo is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Chernicin is trying to work for a kimura but Aldo is defending well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Aldo is trying to get back to full guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Aldo keeps trying to improve his position.
Chernicin wants to control but Aldo is keeping him busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chernicin prevents Aldo from improving his position.
Aldo keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Aldo manages to get to full guard.
Aldo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Aldo is still trying to improve position.

Chernicin drops back looking for a leg! Aldo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Aldo manages to kick Chernicin off! Chernicin jumps back into Aldo's guard.

Chernicin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Aldo is keeping the position for now.

Chernicin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Chernicin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Aldo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Aldo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Aldo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Chernicin is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Aldo is aware though and is defending well.

Aldo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Aldo has gone for a leg lock! Chernicin slips out almost immediately though and dives into Aldo's guard.

Chernicin won't allow Aldo to sweep him here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Aldo looking for a guillotine here but Chernicin defends easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Aldo lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Aldo postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Chernicin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Aldo, into his guard.

Aldo wants to sweep but no luck.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Aldo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Chernicin's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Aldo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aldo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Aldo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Chernicin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Aldo has Chernicin in his guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jimi Aldo will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Aldo stuffs the takedown attempt from Chernicin. Chernicin gets slowly back to his feet.
Chernicin lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Aldo leaves Chernicin with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Aldo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chernicin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Aldo in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Chernicin is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jimi Aldo!
Our winner, Jimi Aldo, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
