PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight kickboxing rules bout between Gino Giggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rico Ramon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good leg kick by Giggs there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ramon throws the left hand but Giggs avoids the punch easily.
Giggs swings for the body but Ramon moves out of range.
Giggs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Ramon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Giggs gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Ramon tests Giggs's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Ramon misses with a hook. Giggs ducked under it nicely.
Giggs connects with a body shot that sends Ramon's belly button to the back.

Giggs takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Ramon throws a right hand that Giggs ducks under and follows up with a left that Giggs also avoids with ease.

Ramon might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Giggs throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ramon uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Giggs.
Ramon is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Giggs with a body shot.

Giggs moves out of range as Ramon strikes.

Giggs fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ramon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Giggs just misses with a punch to the body.
Ramon with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Giggs to score with a decent uppercut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Giggs. Ramon does a little dance to reset his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Ramon is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Giggs had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

That was a close round but I would say that Gino Giggs will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Giggs is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ramon can do to turn this around?

Giggs closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes.

Ramon has had enough of the clinch but Giggs keeps him there for the moment.

Giggs cracks Ramon with a big uppercut, right up the middle and Ramon goes down! Oh, he's hurt! He's bigtime hurt! The referee is giving him a chance to get back to his feet - 4,5,6,7, no, he's called it off! Ramon wasn't going to make it and the fight is over!
