Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jessie Bregenzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rod Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jessie Bregenzer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rod Black!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bregenzer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
A slapping body kick lands there for Black.
Black cracks Bregenzer with an open hand slap.
Black throws a nice inside leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Black.
Bregenzer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Bregenzer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Black bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bregenzer takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Black scoring well with a low kick there.

Black gets a double leg takedown into Bregenzer's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.
It looks like Black might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Bregenzer is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Black postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bregenzer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Black, into his guard.

Bregenzer throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Black had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bregenzer defends it easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bregenzer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Black tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Bregenzer throwing strikes from guard but Black blocks nicely.
Bregenzer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Black has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Bregenzer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Black wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bregenzer's guard.

Black keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bregenzer's head.
Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bregenzer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Black must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Bregenzer is looking to stand up but Black isn't so interested in that idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Black looking to pass the guard.
Black trying to control but Bregenzer is working from the bottom.
Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Bregenzer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Bregenzer wants to stand and escape but Black is having none of it.
Black is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bregenzer keeping full guard, as Black tries to pass.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Bregenzer goes for a double leg but Black avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Black continues to drive forward.
Bregenzer closes the distance and clinches up with Black, looking for a takedown. Bregenzer pushes Black against the cage but Black circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Black feints the counter takedown.
Black tries to clinch up but Bregenzer circles away and keeps his distance.
Black lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
No luck for Black with that takedown attempt.
Bregenzer appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A good leg kick by Black.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rod Black dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Black rushes Bregenzer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bregenzer looking for a takedown.
Black has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Black lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bregenzer backwards.
Black gets through Bregenzer's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Black pushes Bregenzer back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Black lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bregenzer backwards.
Black lands a left hand.
Black pushes Bregenzer back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Black drops Bregenzer onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Bregenzer is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!


Bregenzer is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Black creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Bregenzer with a big uppercut! Bregenzer tries to clinch up but Black pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Bregenzer to the mat! Bregenzer covers up and Black unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Rod Black!
Rod Black is the new heavyweight champion!
