Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Elmo Callahan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Leonardo!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Steve Erwin and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Callahan scores with a takedown into Leonardo's guard.

Leonardo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnny Leonardo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Callahan chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Leonardo can pounce on him.
Callahan stuffs the takedown.
Callahan looks for a takedown but Leonardo sprawls well.
Leonardo is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Callahan shoots in looking for a takedown. Leonardo tries to sprawl out of it but Callahan keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Leonardo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Leonardo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Leonardo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Callahan but Callahan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Leonardo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Callahan.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Elmo Callahan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leonardo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Callahan avoids it really well and circles away.
Callahan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Leonardo.
Callahan shoots and misses
and Leonardo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Elmo Callahan has been cut.
Leonardo is trying hard to land a takedown here. Callahan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Callahan blocks the body kick.
Callahan tries for a takedown but Leonardo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Callahan misses with a takedown
and Leonardo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Leonardo misses with a double jab
and Callahan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Callahan instigates a clinch.
Callahan tries to pull guard but Leonardo holds him up against the cage and eventually Callahan drops back down to his feet.
Callahan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Leonardo manages to break the clinch.
Leonardo slaps away a takedown attempt from Callahan, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Leonardo shoots in but no luck this time.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Leonardo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Callahan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Leonardo.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leonardo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Leonardo looks winded!
Leonardo shoots for a takedown but Callahan saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Callahan misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Callahan fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Leonardo avoids it really well and circles away.
Leonardo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Leonardo cracks Callahan with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

and Leonardo counters by clinching up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Callahan tries to pull guard but Leonardo forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Leonardo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Callahan pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Callahan tries to pull guard but Leonardo won't allow it.
Callahan takes a shot to the head.
Leonardo wants a takedown.
Callahan throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Leonardo lands an elbow just above Callahan 's eye.
Callahan is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Leonardo to keep the fight standing.

Callahan gets control of Leonardo's arms and successfully pulls guard. Callahan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Callahan pulls Leonardo in close to his closed guard and prevents Leonardo from doing any damage or advancing position.
Leonardo controlling from the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Johnny Leonardo dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Elmo Callahan's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Leonardo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Callahan circles away.
Leonardo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Callahan leaves Leonardo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Callahan walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.


Callahan is rocked!

Leonardo gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Oh Callahan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Leonardo jumps guard.
Leonardo manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Callahan manages to get himself to full guard.

Leonardo postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Leonardo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Callahan drops his hands momentarily and Leonardo needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Callahan just on the top of the head. Callahan drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Callahan - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Johnny Leonardo!
