Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Deshawn Campos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodrigo Bret!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Campos tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bret swats him away and circles back towards the center.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Bret.

Bret gets a clinch.

Campos pulls guard.
Campos pulls Bret in close to prevent any damage.
Bret working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bret decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Campos, up you get!
Bret shoots in and drives through. Campos sprawls well.

Bret clinches with his opponent.
Campos has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bret is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Campos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

It looks like Deshawn Campos has been cut.

Bret has Campos pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Campos manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Campos tries to counter by clinching up but Bret breaks away and moves out of range.

and Campos decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bret's guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Campos is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Deshawn Campos.
I think Campos has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
