The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki moves out of range as Ryan strikes.
Aoki feinted with a counter takedown.
Aoki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ryan circles away.
Aoki misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Ryan misses with the combination.

Aoki went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
A telegraphed right hand from Ryan misses the target.
Ryan comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Tom Ryan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Horrible takedown attempt by Aoki or perhaps it was just good defense by Ryan, which made it look bad.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ryan is trying to control but can't.
Aoki looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aoki is looking to take a break and control but Ryan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Aoki drops back looking for a leg! Ryan is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ryan manages to kick Aoki off! Aoki jumps back into Ryan's guard.

Aoki walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Ryan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Aoki on the side of the head.
Aoki tries to land a front kick but Ryan steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Ryan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Aoki stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Aoki is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

It looked like Aoki was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Ryan lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

The crowd cheers as Ryan lands an impressive looking overhand right. Aoki doesn't seem phased though.

Ryan rushes Aoki with punches - Aoki moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Aoki goes down! Ryan follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
