Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Just Islander (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tobias Marshall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tobias Marshall will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tobias Marshall!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Islander walks into a straight right hand from Marshall.
Islander looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

and Islander counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Islander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Islander is working Marshall over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Islander looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Marshall with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Islander winds up and cracks Marshall with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Islander slips a nice elbow through Marshall's hands, connecting with Marshall's forehead.

Marshall holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Marshall wants to control but Islander is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Marshall gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Islander to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Marshall is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Islander with a flurry of punches that miss.

Marshall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Islander is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Marshall can do to turn this around?

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marshall is on top in guard.

Islander has Marshall pulled in close to control his posture.
Marshall wants to stand but Islander is controlling his posture from full guard.

Marshall got a little sloppy there for a moment and Islander has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marshall has managed to get both his arms back between Islander's legs - danger averted.
Marshall wants to stand but Islander has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Just Islander.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Islander, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
