PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Igydo Dall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bors Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dall kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Blue Ice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igydo Dall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bors Hill!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dall drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A big left from Hill misses.
We've been hearing reports that Dall has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Bors Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dall slips a jab from Hill.
Hill throws a body shot but no joy.
A counter left hand to the body from Dall misses its target.
Dall looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Hill throws a head kick but Dall moves out of range.
Hill throws a body punch but Dall moves out of range.
Dall uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Hill.
Hill avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Hill drives through with a takedown into Dall's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Dall keeping full guard, as Hill tries to pass.

Dall throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Dall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hill manages to get himself to full guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hill wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Hill is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Dall tries to free his leg and advance position but Hill is retaining full guard.

Hill is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dall defends well.
Dall looking to pass the guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dall won't allow Hill to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Hill working a defensive guard here.
Hill is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Dall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dall is pushing down on Hill's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hill is fighting to maintain full guard but Dall has managed to sneak the leg through.

Dall is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hill is looking to improve his position.
Hill is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dall is trying to work for a kimura but Hill is defending well.

Hill looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Hill is trying to stand up here but Dall is controlling him well.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hill tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Hill misses with a low kick.
Dall misses with an uppercut.
Dall connects with a jab.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dall lands an overhand right.
Hill wants to clinch

and Dall counters with a crisp one two that drops Hill! Dall thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Hill to his feet! Hill is in big trouble!


Hill is rocked!
Dall circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Hill to the canvas! Hill doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Dall keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Igydo Dall!
After winning the bout, Igydo Dall thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
