Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Kevin Hawthorne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Columbus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Columbus comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Warriors of the world kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kevin Hawthorne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Scott Columbus!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbus thuds his right hand into Hawthorne's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Columbus checks the leg kick.
Columbus is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Hawthorne with a body shot.
Columbus connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hawthorne has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Columbus.

It seemed like Columbus was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Columbus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

And Columbus responds with a good body kick, but Hawthorne manages to step out the way in time.
Scott Columbus seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Good leg kick by Hawthorne there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Scott Columbus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Scott Columbus very nearly forgot to thank HERITAGE! (message for laundry) amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
