PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Danny Green (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tourney Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Green comes to the ring accompanied by Miracle - We Ain't Scared. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 35 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Danny Green!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Tourney Fighter!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Patrick Alders and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fighter uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Green.
A countering left hand to the body from Fighter misses.
Fighter tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Fighter scores with the left hand. Green knows he should have avoided that one.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Fighter has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Fighter with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Green throws a right hand that misses
and Fighter connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fighter scores with a jab to the jaw.
Green loads up on a big right hand but Fighter slips the punch.
Green displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Fighter throws out the jab.
Green needs to keep his hands up - Fighter had a free shot at his head there.
Fighter pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fighter. Green does a little dance to reset his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fighter throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.
Green takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Fighter sizes up Green with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Fighter ducks under a wild hook from Green.
Fighter takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Green bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Green looks for the body kick but Fighter saw that one coming.
Fighter lands a nice looking body shot.

Green takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Green cracks Fighter with a good jab.
Green lands an overhand right.
Green thumps Fighter with a low kick.
Fighter throws a looping overhand right but Green ducks down to avoid it.
Fighter moves forwards but Green connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Green getting the better of the striking in that exchange.


Fighter is rocked!
Green has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Breakdown Club in the buildup to the fight.
Fighter throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Green sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Fighter is still on wobbly legs! Can Green finish him?
Green lands a slapping body shot.
Fighter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Green's hands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Green throws a big shot that misses.
Fighter seems to have recovered his senses.
Fighter is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fighter shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Green eats them both and turns towards Fighter to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
A head kick misses from Fighter.
Fighter tries a low kick but Green avoids it.
Fighter feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Greens jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The fight stays on the outside here - Fighter looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Fighter, right into the meat.
Good standup being displayed there by Fighter as he connects with a hook.
Green lands with a thumping leg kick.
Green fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Green avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nice body kick there by Green.
Green defending well as Fighter loads up on a big left hand.
Fighter lands with a thumping leg kick.
Green takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Fighter stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Green.
Green fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fighter is out of range.
Green looks to land a right hand but Fighter moved out of range.
Fighter throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Fighter. That's going to slow Green down.
Green bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Tourney Fighter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fighter blocks the body kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Green throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Green.
Green blocks a jab.
Green scores with a jab to the head.
Green avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Green scores with a push kick.
Fighter is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Green had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Green lands a front kick to the face, that drops Fighter to the canvas! Is he dazed or just shocked? He's back to his feet and the referee is going to allow him to continue the fight!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Green uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Fighter.
Green throws a sloppy head kick and Fighter moves out of range easily.
Fighter looks to land a combination but Green avoids it well.
A good leg kick by Green.
Fighter checks a low kick from Green.
Green takes one to the side of the head.
Green connects with a right hand. Fighter shakes it off.
Green needs to keep his hands up - Fighter had a free shot at his head there.
A big left from Fighter misses.

Fighter rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Green counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Green looks for the body kick but Fighter saw that one coming.
A solid leg kick lands there for Green.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Fighter breaks from the clinch.
Fighter walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Fighter is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Danny Green!
Danny Green is the new lightweight champion!
A less than humble Danny Green misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
