Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerry Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Diego Ferreira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carlos Diego Ferreira told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Diego Ferreira!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Dirk Anderson.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferreira shoots for a double leg takedown but Johnson sprawls well. He's pushed Ferreira's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Johnson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ferreira moves away.
Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Ferreira. Ferreira gets slowly back to his feet.
Johnson defending well as Ferreira loads up on a big left hand.
Johnson quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Ferreira throws a head kick but Johnson moves out of range.
Ferreira throws a head kick that misses.
Ferreira shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Jerry Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Diego Ferreira.

Ferreira takes one to the side of the head.
Ferreira closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
A quick step to the side and Johnson tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferreira darts in looking for a takedown but Johnson gets double underhooks and turns Ferreira into the cage.

Ferreira with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Johnson to score with a decent uppercut.

Ferreira throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ferreira throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ferreira.
Johnson keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ferreira takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Johnson lands with an uppercut that bounces Ferreira off the cage and back into range.
Johnson connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ferreira's hands.
Ferreira is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ferreira.
