Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Masa Mune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sher Shah Suri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sher Shah Suri will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Masa Mune!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sher Shah Suri!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shirou Masuda and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mune throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Suri counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mune misses with a hook. Suri ducked under it nicely.
Mune misses with the body kick
and Suri counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Suri cracks Mune with a good jab.
Mune on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Suri is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Mune shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Suri missing with a left hand there. Mune was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
An attempted straight right counter from Mune misses the target.
Suri throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mune stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mune fails with a takedown attempt.
Suri misses with an uppercut.
Mune attempts a counter takedown but Suri avoids it well and moves away.
Mune connects with a nice looking jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Suri lands a lovely overhand right.
Suri connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Suri has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Mune decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Suri's guard.

Mune working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Suri's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mune is fighting to break Suri's control of his arms but Suri is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Suri looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mune is one step ahead there.
Suri is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mune is trying to get back to full guard.

Mune might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mune is looking for a sweep. Suri is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Suri is keen to just control but Mune is a slippery customer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Suri seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Suri gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Suri throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Mune throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Suri tries to land a front kick but Mune steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Suri throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mune throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Suri counters with a stiff right hand.
Sher Shah Suri is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mune feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Suri's calf.
Mune throws out a loose jab but Suri uses good head movement to avoid it.
Suri lands with a thumping leg kick.
Mune just misses with a punch to the body.
A telegraphed right hand from Mune misses the target.
Mune shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Suri as he avoids it easily.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Suri.
Suri is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
A punch lands to the side of Mune 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sher Shah Suri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mune misses with a body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sher Shah Suri dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mune lunges at Suri with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Suri's hand.
Mune throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Suri.
Suri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mune showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Suri.
Suri scores with a hook to the body. Mune takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Mune throws a nice looking combination but Suri bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mune takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mune tries to bum rush Suri with a series of wild strikes but Suri uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Suri now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Mune takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Mune goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Suri feints a counter leg kick.
Mune throws a push kick but Suri slaps the foot to one side.

Suri slips under a jab from Mune.
A telegraphed right hand from Mune misses the target.
Mune moves away from the strike by Suri.

Mune looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Mune is taking a breather. Suri says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Suri is not content to let Mune control the position.
Suri has his hands clasped together around Mune's back. He's all about the action.
Suri avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mune.
Mune is looking to stall here but Suri recovers full guard.

Mune sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Suri's guard.

Mune perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Suri is controlling Mune's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Suri is staying active underneath Mune, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Mune is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mune is trying to control. Suri wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Suri bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
A nice combination there by Suri.
Mune staying out of range there.
Suri misses with a looping right.
A big left from Mune misses.
Suri looks to land a body kick but Mune moved away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mune needs to keep his hands up - Suri had a free shot at his head there.

That was a close second round but I would say that Masa Mune will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Mune chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Suri can pounce on him.
Suri has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Suri throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Mune appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Suri bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mune lands a glancing blow to the side of Suri's head.
Mune takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mune punishes Suri's body with a nice straight punch.
Suri checks a low kick from Mune.
Mune's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Suri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mune scrambles back to his feet.
Mune avoids the body shot from Suri.
Mune tried to counter with a leg kick but Suri avoided it.
Suri pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Suri turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Suri throws a good cross that connects.
Mune takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Suri connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Mune catches Suri with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Suri lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Suri avoids a kick to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Masa Mune overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Suri controlling his opponent.
Mune tries to reverse the position but Suri maintains control.
Suri takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

I think Suri has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
