The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva lands a jab.
Alex Jeferson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva tries to clinch up but Jeferson circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Jeferson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Silva wants to get back to his feet but Jeferson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Jeferson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jeferson has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jeferson won't allow Silva to get back to his feet.

Silva is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Jeferson rolls with it to try and escape but Silva cranks on the arm and Jeferson is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
