The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacDonald feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
MacDonald lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

MacDonald postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Martins wants to stand up but MacDonald is controlling him.

Martins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and MacDonald defends well.
MacDonald has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Martins can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as MacDonald controls the pace.
MacDonald distracts Martins with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

MacDonald cracks Martins with a solid left hand.
Martins is rocked!
MacDonald lands a couple of elbows.
Martins is still in real trouble! Can MacDonald finish him?
MacDonald postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Martins covers up, he's hurt! MacDonald keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from MacDonald and the ref steps in to end the fight! MacDonald can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
