The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fitswell tries to land a leg kick but Machida saw it coming and moves away.

and Machida counters with an inside leg kick.
Machida swings for the body but Fitswell moves out of range.
Fitswell lands with an uppercut that bounces Machida off the cage and back into range.

Fitswell wants to improve his position but instead Machida has moved into half guard.

Machida takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
