Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ian Lang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Knight has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ian Lang's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of London, Ian Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Chris Knight!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knight tries for a takedown but Lang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Chris Knight seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Knight shoots in looking for a takedown. Lang tries to sprawl out of it but Knight keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lang half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Knight looking to score a takedown here. Lang is defending well but Knight drives through and ends up in Lang's guard.
Lang really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Knight pushes down on Lang's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Knight wants to work for an arm triangle but Lang is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lang is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Knight tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Lang.

Knight is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Lang tries to get to full guard but Knight has control of the leg.
Knight wants to pass the guard but Lang is defending well.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Knight performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Lang is not content to let Knight control the position.
Lang is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Knight takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Knight throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Knight is looking to take a break and control but Lang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Knight is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Knight wants to pass to mount but Lang is defending the position.
Knight seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lang does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Knight keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Knight dives in and grabs Lang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lang pushes down on Knight's head and hops out.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lang stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Knight content to slow the pace in the clinch.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lang.
Lang effectively controlling the action here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lang has Knight pushed against the cage.

Knight dives in and grabs Lang's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lang pushes down on Knight's head and hops out.

Knight looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Lang!
Knight remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Knight is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Lang's shoulder. That is not cool.

Knight thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lang's head.

Lang is not content to let Knight control the position.
Lang is trying to get back to full guard.
Lang is refusing to be controlled, as Knight sits in half guard.
Knight has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Knight works his way into side control.

Knight goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lang has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Knight but great work by Lang.

Knight is trying to control Lang's posture but Lang avoids it.

You can see the frustration on Knight's face as Lang controls the position.

Lang decides to stand up, so the ref orders Knight to his feet.
Knight with a poor takedown

and Lang counters with a nice double leg into side control. Knight won't be happy with that.
Knight is breathing heavily.
Lang working away.
Knight takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Knight is trying to control Lang's posture but Lang avoids it.
Lang wants to stand but Knight is controlling his arm.

Lang decides to stand back up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Knight has a takedown stuffed.
Lang quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Ian Lang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Knight.

Lang manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Knight on his heels. He'll look to pass Knight's guard now, I'm sure.
Lang lands a couple of elbows.
Knight pulls Lang in close to his closed guard and prevents Lang from doing any damage or advancing position.
Knight wants to sweep here but Lang controlling him for the moment.
Lang tries to stand but Knight is controlling from the bottom.
Lang will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lang trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Knight wants to get back to his feet but Lang is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Lang has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Knight has Lang pulled in close to control his posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Knight tries to land a leg kick but Lang saw it coming and moves away.
Lang appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Knight doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lang counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Lang tries to bum rush Knight with a series of wild strikes but Knight uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
And Knight tries to counter it with a takedown but Lang pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Knight shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lang manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Lang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Knight gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lang keeping moving, preventing Knight from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Knight shoots in looking for a takedown but Lang manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Knight's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Knight misses with a double jab.
Lang is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Knight.
Knight shoots in for a takedown but Lang shows good takedown defense.
Lang swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Knight fails to land the takedown.
Ian Lang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Knight.

Knight closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lang's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Knight avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lang escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Knight gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lang is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Knight trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Knight wants to control from the top but Lang keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Knight tries to clinch

and Lang counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Lang prevents Knight from getting back to his feet.

Knight working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lang doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lang manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Knight is working an open guard so Lang takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Knight throws a low kick but Lang moves out of range easily.

Knight fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lang misses with a head kick.

and Lang counters with a stiff right hand.
Knight throws a leg kick but Lang moved away.
Lang attempts a counter takedown but Knight avoids it well and moves away.

Lang has managed to clinch.
Lang has Knight pressed against the cage.
Lang drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lang pulls guard successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Knight not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ian Lang showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
