Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Yogi Bear (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Dever (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dever has chosen Class Historian by Broncho as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yogi Bear!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Dever!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Kenichi Hosakawa and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dever rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bear counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bear checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Dever is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Dever lands a big head kick that sends Bear tumbling to the mat! Dever takes a step backwards and waves Bear back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Bear is rocked!


It looks like Yogi Bear has been cut.
Dever throws a head kick that misses.
Oh Bear is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dever throws a sloppy head kick

and Bear holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bear seems to have got his legs back now.
A short right from Bear on the inside.
Bear digs a right hand into Dever's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dever's gas tank.
A head punch on the inside from Dever fails to land.
Dever tries to throw a body punch but Bear avoids it by throwing Dever back against the ropes.
Dever is trying to push Bear away but Bear has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Dever is trying to force a seperation but Bear has the dominant position.
Bear is working Dever over against the ropes.
Dever misses with a body punch.

Bear breaks the clinch.
Dever throws a head kick that misses

and Bear counters by clinching up.
Bear works on Dever's body with a couple of short punches.
Bear scores with a hook to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dever tries to break the clinch but Bear is controlling the position.
Bear throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Devers head.
Bear lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
I was talking to Bear's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Bear lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dever backwards.
Bear lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Dever.
Bear lands with a light punch inside.
Nice body punch from Bear.
Dever looks winded!
A short right from Bear.
Dever tries to break the clinch but Bear is controlling the position.
Bear pushes Dever back against the ropes and unloads with a body punch.
Dever misses with the head strike.
Dever tries to break free but Bear pushes him back against the ropes.
Bear keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dever's efforts to push away.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Bear as Dever tries to tie him up.
Dever wants to break free but Bear has control.
Bear keeps control of Dever as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Bear lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Dever is trying to force a seperation but Bear has the dominant position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dever is trying to push Bear away but Bear has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
Bear lands a body punch in the clinch.
Dever can't break the clinch.
Dever is trying to break the clinch but Bear is controlling him.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Bear.
Dever wants to get back to striking at distance but Bear won't allow it.
Bear lands with a light punch inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bear lands a left hand.
Nice body punch from Bear.
Bear lands a body shot in the clinch.
Bear lands an uppercut.
A nice left hand lands by Bear.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Bear creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.


Dever is rocked!
Bear lands with a left to the head.
Dever is still on wobbly legs! Can Bear finish him?
Dever is trying to force a seperation but Bear has the dominant position.
Bear working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Bear dips a shoulder and cracks Dever with a mighty uppercut! Dever falls back against the ropes and Bear unloads with a barrage of strikes! Dever is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Bear screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Yogi Bear!
