Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dewey Foley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Freeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dewey Foley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matt Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Luis Engracia and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Freeman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Foley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Freeman keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Foley's head.
Freeman forces his way into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Freeman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Well, if Freeman is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Freeman tries to pass to full mount but Foley defends it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Freeman darts in and clinches Foley up against the cage.

Freeman manages to pull guard.
Foley tries to stand but Freeman is controlling from the bottom.

Freeman is looking for a triangle but Foley pushes his legs off easily.

Foley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Freeman, up you get!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Freeman.
Freeman scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Foley doesn't seem bothered though.
Freeman misses with a takedown attempt - Foley sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Foley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Freeman pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Foley is keeping the position for now.
Freeman throws a big right hand that misses.
Foley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Freeman on the ground.
Freeman seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
My spies in The Warehouse inform me that Freeman has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Foley is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Matt Freeman dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Foley slaps away a takedown attempt from Freeman, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A little feinted left hand from Foley on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Freeman tries a head kick but it misses.
Foley takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Foley scores with a crisp jab that stopped Freeman in his tracks.
Freeman goes for a double leg but Foley avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Foley continues to drive forward.

and Foley counters with a one-two to the body.
Dewey Foley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Freeman.

Foley tries to keep at a distance but Freeman has taken the fight into the clinch.
Freeman tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Foley just stands there and leans against the cage.
Foley gets underhooks to prevent Freeman's takedown attempt.

Freeman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Freeman keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Foley's efforts to push away.
Freeman lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Freeman fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Freeman jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Foley walks away with a smile on his face. Freeman gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Freeman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Foley is looking to counter punch.

Freeman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foley preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Matt Freeman has got the better of the ground game so far.

Freeman is trying to control. Foley wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Still in half guard, Freeman seems content to control.
Foley is looking for a sweep. Freeman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Freeman seems to be working for a kimura but Foley defends the submission attempt.
Freeman wants to take a breather but Foley is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Freeman looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Freeman controlling the action here.
Freeman missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Foley is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Matt Freeman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Freeman tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Freeman is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Foley's shoulder. That is not cool.
Freeman tries to stand but Foley is controlling his head.
Foley tries to get back to half guard but can't.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Foley is working hard here to advance position.
Foley takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Freeman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Freeman tries to stand but Foley is controlling his head.
Dewey Foley has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Freeman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Foley's half guard.
Freeman content to control rather than advance.

Freeman is pressing down on Foley's thigh, looking to free his foot. Foley is holding on for now.

Matt Freeman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Freeman winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
