These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCoist moves into the clinch successfully.
McCoist tries to land knees in the clinch but Roca avoids the damage to the body.
Roca doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
McCoist struggles to land a body shot inside as Roca controls his hands.
McCoist misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Roca.

McCoist manages to break the clinch.
Nice uppercut lands for Roca. That snapped McCoist's head back.

It looks like Wiley McCoist has been cut.
Roca misses with a straight left.
McCoist ducks under a wild hook from Roca.
Roca keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roca throws a hook but McCoist blocks it.
Roca throws a right hand that McCoist ducks under and follows up with a left that McCoist also avoids with ease.
McCoist tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Roca let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Roca's coach down at Tycoon Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Roca's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Roca throws a hook to the side of McCoist's head but McCoist sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

McCoist moves to clinch but Roca breaks away
and Roca counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McCoist avoids the body shot from Roca.
McCoist moves away from the strike by Roca.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McCoist gets a clinch.
Roca lands a right hand that snaps the head of McCoist backwards.
McCoist missing with knees to the body.
Roca misses with a shot to the kidneys.
McCoist has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Roca is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
McCoist is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Roca to keep the fight standing.

Roca misses with a hook to the ribs.
McCoist presses Roca against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Roca blocks an uppercut.
McCoist lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

McCoist breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCoist steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Roca.
McCoist looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
McCoist tries to clinch but Roca is having none of it.
Roca clobbers McCoist with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
