Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Khalil Omurzakov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chad Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Omurzakov lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hughes circles away quickly and effectively.
Omurzakov misses with a jab, cross combination.
Omurzakov misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hughes.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Hughes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

and Hughes holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Omurzakov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Hughes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Omurzakov misses with an uppercut.
Omurzakov jabs Hughes right on the nose. Hughes blinks but takes it well.

Hughes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Omurzakov's guard.
Omurzakov is wriggling around but Hughes manages to pass to half guard.

Omurzakov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Hughes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hughes is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Hughes lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Omurzakov has hold of Hughes's hands but Hughes slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Omurzakov is looking to escape.
Hughes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Hughes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Hughes is nestled in close to Omurzakov, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hughes landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Hughes missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Hughes stops Omurzakov from getting back to his feet.
Hughes working Omurzakov over with strikes.
Hughes works his way into full mount!
Hughes connects with a bit shot that sees Omurzakov covering up! More strikes from Hughes and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Hughes is our winner by TKO!
