PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Mamba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mamba might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 2pac-Uppercut . I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 45 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Magnus Mamba!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Daniel Brown!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mamba ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mamba throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Brown counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Mamba is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Mamba misses with the combination.
Brown swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Mamba misses with a lunging right hand
and Brown counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Mamba lands a head kick. Brown smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Brown tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Mamba takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Mamba in a clinch.

Brown gets control of Mamba's arms and successfully pulls guard. Brown will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Brown has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mamba can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mamba has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Mamba's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Mamba wants to stand but Brown has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mamba trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Brown is on top in guard.

Mamba is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Brown seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mamba knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brown on the ground.
Mamba wants to sweep here but Brown controlling him for the moment.

Brown postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Brown working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Mamba is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Brown is controlling him.

Brown throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mamba works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Brown loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Brown controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Brown's jab looks to have found its range, popping Mamba under the eye.
Mamba moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mamba comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Mamba throws a head kick that misses
and Brown counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mamba's knee momentarily.
Mamba slips a straight right by Brown.
Brown lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mamba circles away quickly and effectively.
Mamba fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Brown on the side of the head.
Brown ducks right into an uppercut from Mamba.
Mamba scores with a sloppy right hand. Brown should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Mamba on the side of the head.

It looks like Magnus Mamba has been cut.
Mamba moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Brown looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Brown clobbers Mamba with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Mamba is rocked!

Brown takes the fight into the clinch.

Mamba breaks the clinch.
Brown scores with a leg kick.
Brown is looking to clinch but Mamba is avoiding it.
Mamba throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Brown dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Magnus Mamba's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brown throws a jab but it's blocked by Mamba.
Mamba is looking to counter with a shot to the body.

Brown throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Mamba stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Brown follows into mount!
Oh Mamba is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brown drops a big elbow. That's hurt Mamba! More shots from Brown and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daniel Brown!
