Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jet Li (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Kehoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Li comes to the cage accompanied by Tourniquet by Evanescence. The crowd seem to be enjoying Kehoe's choice of entrance music: "Master of Puppets" by Metallica. Jet Li could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Andrew Kehoe's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jet Li!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Kehoe!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kehoe throws a hook to the side of Li's head but Li sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Kehoe changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Li tries to avoid it but Kehoe manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Li to the ground. Li escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kehoe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Li looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Kehoe cracks Li with an open hand slap.
Kehoe misses with an uppercut. Li saw that one coming.
A slow jab from Kehoe misses its intended target.
Kehoe takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Andrew Kehoe has been cut.
Kehoe misses with a straight left.
Kehoe jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Li does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Kehoe moves away from the strike by Li.

Li gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
The referee is keeping an eye on Kehoe - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
I was talking to Li's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kehoe misses with a punch to the body.
We've been informed that Kehoe has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Li tries to work over Kehoe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Kehoe blocks an uppercut.
Li gets through Kehoe's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Li blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Li tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Li lands with a short head shot on the inside.

A short right hand to the side of the head by Li.
Kehoe tries for a takedown. No joy.

Kehoe is rocked!
Kehoe blocks an uppercut.

Kehoe wants the takedown. Li is fighting it off but Kehoe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Li's guard against the cage.

Li has his feet on Kehoe's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
No luck for Kehoe with that takedown attempt.
Jet Li has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Andrew Kehoe.
Kehoe lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kehoe fails with the takedown.
Kehoe digs a good body shot into Li's ribs.
Kehoe shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Li feints and then cracks Kehoe's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Kehoe down.
A slapping leg kick lands for Li.
Kehoe punishes Li's body with a nice straight punch.
Kehoe defending well as Li loads up on a big left hand.
It seemed like Kehoe was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Li throws a leg kick but Kehoe moved away.
Kehoe tries a head kick but it misses.
Kehoe bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Kehoe drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Kehoe drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Li had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kehoe defends it easily.
Kehoe won't allow Li to sweep him here.

Kehoe throws a sloppy strike and Li has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Kehoe is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Li!

Jet Li spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
