Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mr Jingles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Klay Montez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jingles comes into the arena with Cat Scratch Fever-Ted Nugent blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Jingles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Klay Montez!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jingles sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Montez somewhat.
Jingles has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Cylon Training Academy in the buildup to the fight.
Montez misses the jab.
Jingles misses with a jab, cross combination.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Jingles.

Montez throws a series of punches but Jingles avoids them all with ease.

Jingles tries to clinch up but Montez circles away and keeps his distance.

Jingles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Montez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Jingles throws a head kick but Montez moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Montez throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

and Jingles counters with a left and a right that stings Montez.

Montez tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jingles swivels and escapes.
Mr Jingles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klay Montez.
Jingles connects with a body shot that sends Montez's belly button to the back.

Jingles throws a head kick that misses.
Montez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Montez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Jingles counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Jingles will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jingles is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Montez is controlling him well.

Montez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Montez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Jingles seems a little lost for a moment, as Montez dominates the positioning.
Jingles regains half guard, as Montez was trying to land strikes.
Jingles looks like he's trying to stand up.
Montez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jingles's head.
Jingles wants to get back to his feet.

Montez is looking to take a break and control but Jingles is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Montez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Montez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jingles with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jingles is staying active underneath Montez, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jingles on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Jingles wants to get back to his feet but Montez is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mr Jingles will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Montez.
Jingles fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Montez.

Jingles moves in looking to clinch but Montez pushes him off.
Montez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jingles but Jingles pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jingles throws a head kick that looked like it stung.


It looks like Klay Montez has been cut.
Montez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jingles defends well and Montez ends up having to push Jingles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Mr Jingles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Klay Montez.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jingles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Montez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Montez changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Montez dives in and grabs Jingles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jingles pushes down on Montez's head and hops out.
Montez fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Mr Jingles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Montez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jingles as he jumps to the side.

Montez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jingles throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Montez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jingles sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Montez ducks right into an uppercut from Jingles.

Jingles wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Jingles manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jingles landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Jingles is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Montez is defending well for now.
Montez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Jingles pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jingles fails with a takedown attempt.
Jingles tries to score a power double leg takedown but Montez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jingles somewhat.

Montez closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Montez lands in his opponent's guard.
Jingles is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Montez dives into side control.

Montez prevents Jingles from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Montez lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Montez advances to full mount.
Montez scoring with strikes but Jingles is staying in there.
Montez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You get the feeling that Jingles really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Montez looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Jingles squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Montez wants to take Jingles's back but he can't do it this time.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mr Jingles.
I think Jingles has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
