Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eon Yaj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smokey McSmokesalot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eon Yaj has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yaj lands with an overhand left.
A looping hook to the body misses from McSmokesalot. Yaj does a little dance to reset his feet.
Yaj goes for a double leg but McSmokesalot avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McSmokesalot continues to drive forward.
Yaj throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McSmokesalot.
Yaj fails with the takedown.
Yaj smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
McSmokesalot thows a left - swing and a miss!
Yaj takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Yaj moves out of range of the strikes.
McSmokesalot misses with a head kick.
McSmokesalot throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Yaj shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Yaj was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McSmokesalot sneaks back into half guard.
Yaj prevents McSmokesalot from improving his position.
Yaj is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Nice strikes from Yaj there.
McSmokesalot tries to roll over but Yaj keeps him under control.
Yaj has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Yaj perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Yaj looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Yaj not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
McSmokesalot wants to control but Yaj is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Yaj landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Yaj lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McSmokesalot regains full guard. Nicely done.

Yaj trying to control the position from guard on top but McSmokesalot is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Yaj controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Yaj is working McSmokesalot over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

McSmokesalot is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Yaj stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McSmokesalot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McSmokesalot manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yaj manages to get himself to full guard.

Yaj is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

McSmokesalot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yaj has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McSmokesalot has managed to get both his arms back between Yaj's legs - danger averted.

McSmokesalot pushing down on Yaj's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Yaj keeping hold of McSmokesalot's head, controlling as best he can.
McSmokesalot throwing shots but Yaj is blocking nicely.
Yaj wants to get back to full guard.
Yaj is controlling McSmokesalot's trapped leg to prevent McSmokesalot from advancing to side control.

McSmokesalot looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Yaj wants to control but McSmokesalot is keeping busy.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Yaj wants to improve his position but McSmokesalot is controlling well.
McSmokesalot wants to free his trapped foot but Yaj is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Yaj is defending against the submission attempts here by McSmokesalot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McSmokesalot wants to work for an arm triangle but Yaj is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eon Yaj will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Yaj ducks under a wild hook from McSmokesalot.
Yaj takes a swing at McSmokesalot's ribcage but misses.
McSmokesalot now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Yaj throws a jab but it's blocked by McSmokesalot.
McSmokesalot swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
McSmokesalot takes one to the chin there.

McSmokesalot is rocked!

It looks like Smokey McSmokesalot has been cut.
Yaj is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches McSmokesalot flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! McSmokesalot is out cold! Yaj holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
