PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Tanner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pozar Pozar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Pozar's choice of entrance music: z Buta Wjeżdzam. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dick Tanner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 27 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pozar Pozar!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Albert Achterberg and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tanner scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Tanner throws a series of strikes that have Pozar backpedaling.


It looks like Pozar Pozar has been cut.

Tanner has closed the distance and engaged Pozar in a clinch.
Nice elbow from Tanner.
Tanner lands a nice knee to the body.
Pozar tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Tanner just stands there and leans against the cage.
Pozar is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Tanner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tanner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Pozar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tanner pulls his leg out and moves away.

Pozar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Tanner gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Tanner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Tanner definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Pozar is looking for a triangle here but Tanner uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Tanner is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Pozar can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Pozar's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Pozar has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pozar tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tanner smiles and moves away.
Pozar takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Pozar takes one to the chin there.

Pozar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tanner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tanner wants to get back to his feet but Pozar is dominant here and he's now got Tanner's back!

Pozar is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Tanner is defending well though. Pozar let's go of the attempt for now.

Pozar isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Tanner stacks Pozar on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Tanner!

Tanner manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Pozar keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Pozar jumps guard but Tanner stands there with Pozar around his waist. Pozar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Dick Tanner showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Tanner has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
