With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Peter Kovalev!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Halloran defending well as Kovalev loads up on a big left hand.
An attempted straight right counter from O Halloran misses the target.
Kovalev keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
O Halloran scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kovalev doesn't seem bothered though.
Kovalev fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and O Halloran has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The fight stays on the outside here - O Halloran looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Kovalev misses with a series of wild punches.

A jab-cross combination lands for Kovalev and sends O Halloran crashing to the mat! Kovalev follows him down to the mat - O Halloran regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

It looks like Seamus O Halloran has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kovalev missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
O Halloran wants to control but Kovalev is keeping busy.
Kovalev is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, O Halloran is hurt! He's hurt bad - Kovalev fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save O Halloran from any more punishment! Congratulations to Kovalev! Great finish!

A relieved looking Peter Kovalev thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
